Ingredients

French Toast

  • 1 loaf Sourdough bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp vanilla

Crumble

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup flour
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter

Instructions

  • Start by slicing your sourdough loaf into 1-inch cubes. Toss your bread cubes into a greased 9x13-inch casserole dish.
  • In a large bowl add eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla. Stir.
  • Pour the mixture over the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • The next morning, preheat your oven to 350° and prepare the crumble by mixing sugar, brown sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Cut in butter and sprinkle on top of the bread and egg mixture.
  • Bake for 45 minutes in a preheated oven or until golden brown.
  • Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup on top!
